CREATIVE DIRECTION
Write on Black Girl is a call to action to Black women authors and readers alike to uplift the voices of Black women through literature. I wanted the creative direction for this brand to match that energy. Moving away from the previous muted palette, the new visual identity embraces bold, vibrant colors, striking yellows, corals, pinks, and emeralds, that evoke the covers of popular books by Black women and resonate with their audience. The typography features a groovy, bold serif font inspired by the nostalgic feel of the phrase 'Write on,' paired with intentional illustrations of Black women who read and write. Designed to feel bookish and instantly familiar, this rebrand celebrates the unapologetic voices of Black women in literature and encourages their stories to take center stage.

I deeply admire this new logo and the fresh energy it brings to Write On, Black Girl!
